Dave is the Chief Executive Producer at Story Studio Network - a venture he started with his daughter Erin, an award winning broadcast journalist, in April 2021. SSN started as a branded podcast production company - combining Dave's success at producing high quality podcast series and Erin's acumen in strategically navigating the digital business space.

Since its inception, Story Studio Network has grown an incredible team of talent and evolved into company where new media meets modern strategy and meaningful impact.​ SSN offers a broad range of communication support services for large organization, small not-for-profits, international corporations as was as consulting agencies specializing in PR and GR.

Best guesses are Dave has done more than 30 thousand interviews in his career and has won national and international awards for his reporting, news anchoring, documentary production and commentary. He has acquitted himself as a respected leader in Canadian media and journalism with more than 4 decades of experience in radio, television and podcasting. He has reported from five national capitals and every province in Canada, earned accolades for his coverage of local, national and international stories.

He has covered some of the biggest international events of our time, including the funeral of Pope John Paul II, the inauguration of Barack Obama and the Royal Wedding of William and Kate.

The heart of the work is "story telling".


Dave calls himself a "Recovering" major market News Director - having led award winning teams at AM640, Newstalk1010 CFRB, and Global News Toronto.He's received the Radio Television Digital News Association Distinguished Service Award “in recognition and appreciation of outstanding contribution and exemplary distinguished service rendered for the benefit and advancement of electronic journalism and RTDNA Canada.”

Dave is also invested in his community. He mentors and coaches young musicians, performers, athletes and broadcasters, and is an award winning musician and songwriter.
Dave has been actively involve in a non-profit, community based arts organization with roles on and off the stage. He is the co-founded   Dreamtheatre Productions - a community based performing arts theatre company in Toronto.
As a performer, Dave has taken on stage roles in number of theatre productions.
As a producer, Dave has directed and staged "The Promise"  - a contemporary musical and poetic story telling of the humility and simplicity of Christmas and Called to Freedom - a musical show based on the sermons, essays and speeches of Martin Luther King Jr.
He is one of the founders of University of Toronto Community Radio, CIUT FM. He has taught broadcast journalism at Humber College and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Western Ontario, Journalism Dept.

Fun Fact

​Dave and a group of musician friends recorded their music in the Beatles’ famed Studio 2 at Abbey Road in London, UK.
The highlight of the four day session included a visit from Beatles producer and music legend Alan Parsons.
